I have relocated  my studio from Artspace to a private location in January 2013.  Currently I am enjoying  a sabbatical for renewal  of the Spirit and creation of New Art .

Songs for the People -  Expressions of life, love, music and faith.  March 30 - May 7, 2012. Halle Cultural Art center Apex NC.

An exhibition of large works on canvas and small intimate paintings on wood panel. Inspired by the  lyrics and rhythms of songs and the imagery and words of scripture.

In the name of LOVE- U2charist and the Art of Kathy Ammon - Sunday April 29; 6:30-8 pm.

First Reformed Church 555 Southwest Maynard Rd. Cary NC

An exhibition of work with an Open Communion and worship service  featuring the spiritual music of the band U2, played live  by U2FX  band of Cary NC.  The service focuses on themes of the desire for God, God's  love for the poor, and God's call for justice for the exploited and oppressed.

Kathy's paintings provides a  layer of visual depth with her expressions of the inherent need for God's unconditional love, grace, and mercy, and God's  peace and provision in this life.

Road to Damascus Exhibiton at Louisburg College, Louisburg NC Aug. 24- Oct. 2  2010 - a selection of  paintings from her Spirit series that reflects on  spiritual  transformation and humanity's  need for faith;  referencing the influence of 9/11 and other historical events of the 21st century.

Revelations of the Heart Exhibition - April 2 - May 1 2010 - Upfront gallery at Artspace, Raleigh NC.

 Translating experiences of the faithful, moments of transformation and grace and  revelations of hope.  ( a new series of small paintings on 8" x 10"  birch panel)

Hearts with Haiti Earthquake Relief Partnership-  Kathy partnered with Hearts with Haiti through December 2010,  through percent of sales to aid and support the recovery and rebuilding of the St Joseph Family Ministry  after the devestating earthquake.

PUBLICATIONS

Road to Damascus - a journey of faith through the art of Kathy Whaley Ammon. 

 A booklet conceived from the 'Road to Damascus' exhibition and inspired  by a profound spiritual transformation that impacted her life and the direction of her art.  A collection of 20 paintings with scripture that speaks not only to Kathy's personal awakening but universally to the spiritual needs of humanity. Sponsored in part by a Regional Artist  Project Grant through the United Arts Council and the NC Arts Council.
